Finalmente qualcosa di nuovo! Forse non nell'idea in sé, ma nei dettagli sì. Forse non per chi segue Shaping Metal su facebook e instagram, ma per gli affezionati di blogger no.

Quelli che vi presento oggi sono orecchini con incastonate pietre di acquamarina. Non è la prima volta che tento questa tecnica, non so se ricordate il primo anello con ametista e i successivi tentativi come questo con pietra di luna ed altri mostrati però solo nel corso dei vari mercatini. La novità, questa volta, consiste nella decorazione della bastina, la cui parte superiore è arricchita da una forma a coroncina.

Come sempre non riesco a dire le bugie, quindi invece di dirvi che così come ho progettato gli orecchini così sono riusciti, ammetto che le punte dovevano arrivare molto più in basso sulla pietra e aggrapparsi sono nella parte terminale. Beh me ne sono comunque fatta una ragione, w i difetti quando il risultato in fondo non dispiace :-)

LIBELLULE D'INVERNO

Questa mattina sono uscita per andare in ufficio e ho notato subito i camioncini spargisale in azione. Mi sono chiesta, e di questo periodo è inusuale, se ce ne fosse bisogno data la pazzia del clima degli ultimi giorni. In effetti c'è mancato poco che non scivolassi su una bella lastrina di ghiaccio che non avevo notato, per colpa del mio vizio di guardare sempre per aria. Ebbene il gelo è tornato e meno male, un po' perchè il vento caldo in gennaio è preoccupante e un po' perchè so non sono in ritardo nel mostrarvi questa libellula. No direte voi, sei in anticipo se parli di libellule. Ma ad essere a tema estivo è solo il soggetto, mentre l'accessorio si adatta per lo più a capi invernali come sciarponi, cardigan, maglioni di lana o scialli: una spilla.

E' composta da due parti: il corpo principale realizzato prevalentemente da un gioco di saldature, e il punzone estraibile realizzato con un filo spesso. La pietra è amazzonite, di cui amo follemente le tonalità, e ho cercato di creare un po' di colore anche con la patina: il rame è del suo colore naturale su quasi tutta la superfice tranne che sulla parte esterna delle ali. Altezza della libellula: 7 cm.

Non so se vi capita mai di realizzare un accessorio, o fare una qualsiasi cosa fai da te, e poi stravolgerlo. Questa spilla era nata così come vedete qui sotto e forse vi sembrerà uguale a quella sopra. In realtà la nuova versione è semplificata e più lineare oltre ad essere molto più pratica da indossare. Il modello attuale è lo stesso che ho utilizzato qui per la collana con rondelle di agata.

BRACCIALI ESTIVI E BUONE FERIE!

Mi riferisco alle blogger: non so se vi capita mai di pensare "devo assolutamente scrivere di quella cosa sul blog" per poi realizzare un altro accessorio e ri-pensare "no no, prima metto questo, poi quell'altro, poi si vedrà". Insomma...qui a volte c'è un gran caos, priorità immancabilmente non rispettate. Infatti questi bracciali aspettano da un po'. Aspettano che l'estate in verità, perchè si è fatta desiderare parecchio e non sembra ancora convinta a farsi vedere del tutto. Così, se non viene lei da noi, vanno loro da lei. I bracciali... con tondi di giada colorata: gialla, corallo, verde, rosa, viola, azzurro. Semplici, con chiusura in rame. Ogni tanto un po' di semplicità e leggerezza ci vuole, se colorata tanto meglio!

Credo di essermi messa automaticamente in modalità ferie, senza deciderlo ho messo un po' tutto da parte nonostante mi fossi prefissata di postare delle cosine nuove, prima della pausa estiva. Nelle prossime due settimane non aggiornerò il blog, ma se seguite la mia pagina facebook non si sa mai, mi piace giocare con l'app apposita e mi diverto a mettere ogni tanto qualche immagine :)

I think I automatically put in holiday mode, without decide I put a little 'everything aside even though I had set out to post the little things new, before the summer break. CASTONI... FATTI A MANO

Nell'ultimo periodo mi sono dedicata principalmente alla sperimentazione di nuove forme, tra cui ear cuff e castoni. Di ear cuff ve ne ho già fatti vedere tanti, e ne ho ancora qualcuno in serbo. I castoni, i primi che ho sperimentato, sono questi e quello saldato sull'anello di oggi, con una pietra di acquamarina.

E' evidente l'irregolarità dei risultati ma ve li mostro comunque, in particolare per un motivo: mi piacerebbe farvi vedere passo dopo passo se e come miglioro nella lavorazione di questi componenti, partendo da questo che è il primo anello realizzato con castone. Un modo di sentire anche il vostro parere, un metodo per me per crescere confrontandomi.

Sto meditando di mettere in stand by il blog nel mese di agosto per preparare altri gioielli, per sistemare un po' di cose che stanno cambiando nella mia vita, e si... magari anche per riposare un po'. E in settembre posterò man mano tutti gli anelli su cui ho fatto un restyling, come accennato sulla mia pagina facebook: infatti ho riprogettato un tutti quelli che vedete qui nel porta anelli diy realizzando per ognuno un castone e saldato sull'anello in rame. I castoni mi piacciono così tanto da non volermi limitare ovviamente ad utilizzarli solo per gli anelli, voglio vederli montati anche su collane, bracciali, e perchè no anche spille o altri accessori. Volete un esempio di un anello? Eccolo:

COLLANA IN ARGENTO STERLING E CIANITE

Ho scoperto la cianite per caso e nel momento in cui ho iniziato ad utilizzarla me ne sono innamorata. Ha un colore che si presta meravigliosamente sia per il rame che per l'argento, e sono sicura che si otterrebbe un bell'abbinamento anche con l'ottone. Mi piace molto anche lo stato grezzo, infatti sia la pietra di questa collana che di quella precedente non sono state lavorate. Questa volta ho preferito aggiungere poco metallo, quindi ho semplicemente creato un sostegno con un unico pezzo di filo di argento sterling fuso ed appallottolato alle estremità, le quali formano un ricciolino lungo la facciata principale del minerale. A sostenere il pendente ho aggiunto una catena pronta in argento sterling molto sottile (1 mm), e a chiudere un gancio fatto da me dello stesso materiale.

ORECCHINI IN RAME E ARGILLA COLORATI

E' ormai nota la mia nuova ossessione: l'argilla. Qui ho postato i primi orecchini realizzati con questo materiale, oggi ve ne presento un nuovo modello. Come sempre c'è un'idea di partenza e questa volta era quella di realizzare qualcosa di molto leggero, colorato, minimale, un orecchino molto lungo.

Questi orecchini sono in argilla e rame: ho fatto sì che l'argilla si trasformasse in un tubicino e avvolgesse un filo di rame fuso e appallottolato. Lo stesso filo di rame forma l'occhiello che permette al pendente di agganciarsi alla semplicissima monachella, anch'essa in rame.

La scelta dei colori arriva da Pinterest: ho preso ispirazione dai tanti accostamenti di colori che ho "accumulato" nella mia cartella palettes per non abbandonarmi al caso, perchè divento sempre più consapevole di quanto anche il feeling tra i colori sia importante a livello di impatto.

COLLANA IN RAME E ACQUAMARINA

Un sospetto tunnel carpale alla mano destra :-( può farmi sospendere - momentaneamente - l'attività di martellatrice, ma non mi impedirà di fotografare gioiellini che aspettano solo di essere postati.

Ho realizzato questa collana qualche settimana fa, perchè avevo un "disperato" bisogno di abbinarne una a questi orecchini. Le condizioni erano queste: elegante, verde acqua, lunga.

Ho sfruttato un progetto scarabocchiato da tempo sul mio quadernino. Inizialmente doveva essere solo un grande ciondolo composto da una pietra centrale avvolta dalla lamina di rame forgiata. Poi si sa, i progetti si trasformano mettendoli in atto: trovi una pietra, rimpicciolisci la lamina, noti che sta bene con altre pietre più piccole che avevi nel cassetto da tempo... e salta fuori qualcosa che ti aspettavi, ma solo in parte. La pietra centrale è acquamarina, mentre quelle più piccole sono acquamarina multicolore e sono gli stessi dischetti che ho utilizzato per gli orecchini menzionati sopra e per un anello, che posterò più avanti.

I used a project scribbled on my little book. Initially it supposed to be just a large pendant consists of a central stone surrounded by copper foil forged. Then you know, projects are transformed by putting in place: you will find a stone, you scale down the foil, you notice the stone is well with other smaller stones that you had in the drawer for a long time... and comes up something that you were expecting, but only in part. The center stone is aquamarine, while the smaller ones are multicolor aquamarine disks that are the same that I used for the above mentioned earrings and a ring, which I will post later.

PICCOLE GRANDI SODDISFAZIONI

Era da un po' che volevo provare a fare un castone, e avendo la necessità di abbinare degli orecchini ad una collana (già pronta e che vi mostrerò tra qualche giorno) ho colto l'occasione al volo. Questa collana è composta da un pendente in rame e acquamarina e decorata da dischetti, sempre di acquamarina ma multicolor. I dischetti, che come potete vedere dalle foto variano di tonalità, hanno un diametro di 1,00 cm, quindi ho pensato di sfruttarne le dimensioni ridotte e farne un paio di orecchini discreti ma eleganti.

Pur essendo forate, ho voluto utilizzare le pietre come se non lo fossero e mi sono dovuta ingegnare con tagli al mm e saldature multiple. Per bloccare la pietra ho spinto verso l'interno la lamina in superficie, ripiegandola, e utilizzando per queste operazioni l'attrezzo che vedete nell'immagine qui sotto.

L'impressione finale è quella di aver iniziato a capire come realizzare questo tipo di castoni, e per questo sono contentissima!! Riuscire a fare qualcosa che sembrava impossibile è una soddisfazione enorme... Pur sapendo che devo lavorare ancora molto per raggiungere un buon risultato!

PARURE SU RICHIESTA

Partire da un'idea, creare una bozza sul taccuino e infine realizzarlo è entusiasmante, divertente e dà una certa soddisfazione. Ma un tuffo al cuore ce l'ho anche quando mi arriva una richiesta da una/o di voi, perchè quando qualcuno mi chiede di realizzare un accessorio in un certo modo significa che in qualche modo si affida a me. E' una gioia per me realizzare qualcosa su richiesta ed è anche divertente scoprire i gusti di altre persone, fare qualcosa di diverso.

PETALI... O QUASI

A volte mi capita di dare un soprannome a qualcosa che realizzo e quel soprannome diventa il nome perchè non riesco più a vederlo con altri occhi. Questi orecchini li ho soprannominati "petali" quando erano ancora solo dei dischetti di rame appena ritagliati dalla lamina, il risultato finale non lo sembrano ma continuo a chiamarli così, mi piace...

Come si vede dalle foto sono orecchini a perno, realizzato tramite saldatura, di due dimensioni: uno di 7 mm di diametro e l'altro di 12. Ne ho lasciati alcuni paia del colore naturale del rame, gli altri li ho anticati con una patina scura e su alcuni di questi ho aggiunto un po' di colore. La farfallina è in argento 925.
