COLLANA IN ARGENTO STERLING E CIANITE

Ho scoperto la cianite per caso e nel momento in cui ho iniziato ad utilizzarla me ne sono innamorata. Ha un colore che si presta meravigliosamente sia per il rame che per l'argento, e sono sicura che si otterrebbe un bell'abbinamento anche con l'ottone. Mi piace molto anche lo stato grezzo, infatti sia la pietra di questa collana che di quella precedente non sono state lavorate. Questa volta ho preferito aggiungere poco metallo, quindi ho semplicemente creato un sostegno con un unico pezzo di filo di argento sterling fuso ed appallottolato alle estremità, le quali formano un ricciolino lungo la facciata principale del minerale. A sostenere il pendente ho aggiunto una catena pronta in argento sterling molto sottile (1 mm), e a chiudere un gancio fatto da me dello stesso materiale.

It has a color which lends itself beautifully to both copper and silver, and I'm sure it would get a good combination with brass. I also really like the raw state, in fact the stone of this necklace and that of the previous one are not been worked. This time I decided to add a few metal, so I just created a support with a single piece of sterling silver wire melted and balled at the ends, which form a curl along the main facade of the mineral. To support the pendant I added a sterling silver chain ready very thin (0.04 inch), and to close an hook made ​​by me of the same material.

QUESTIONE DI FORMA • COLLANA

 
Questa collana è una questione di forma. Principalmente la forma della pietra, cianite, indefinita e irregolare nel contorno ma anche in superficie. Semitrasparente anche, requisito che mi ha spinta a permettere di guardare oltre, proprio nel senso fisico del termine. La lamina, destinata ad accompagnarla, doveva essere tagliata, forata e traforata al millimetro, e così è stato. E' diventata una cornice in cui guardare dentro ma anche attraverso, per cercare luci o ombre all'interno della cianite.

Vogliamo parlare del colore? La pietra in questo senso parla da se, ricorda quasi un'onda bianca in un azzurro mare mosso. La lamina doveva contrastarla e tirarne fuori le sfumature, per questo ho scelto di anticarla con una patina scura, a tratti irregolare, sul fronte, e di lasciarla del suo colore naturale sul retro, il quale è visibile però su ogni facciata. I rivetti in rame natuale sul davanti richiamano questo gioco di colori. La catena, anch'essa anticata, è stata colorata di blu nella parte inferiore.

La catena, appunto: l'ho realizzata completamente a mano e per me vale quanto il ciondolo. Secondo i piani non doveva essere lì per caso quindi ho studiato anch'essa nei dettagli. Ho quindi saldato ogni maglia (e il punto di giuntura si nota, ma la cosa mi piace) e tutte hanno un andamento irregolare, così come era irregolare quanto descritto sopra. Anche la chiusura ha un occhiello saldato, per non perdere la continuità della catena.

The foil has become a frame in which to look inside but also through, searching for lights or shadows within the kyanite.

The stone reminds wave almost white in a blue and rough sea. The foil had to bring out the nuances, so I chose to antique her with a dark patina, with a few irregular features on the front, and let her a natural color on the back, which is, however, visible on each side. The natural copper rivets on the front recall this play of colors. The chain, also aged, was colored in blue in the lower part.

The chain, in fact: I made her entirely by hand and for me is as important as the pendant. I welded to each link (and you can see the join, but I like it) and all have an irregular form, as it was all irregular as I described above. The closure has a welded eye, to not lose the continuity of the chain.
